This is a New Year's event held within the precincts of Akiha Shrine. It is a Shinto ritual where the young run around a blazing bamboo miniature shrine and “worship fire and pray to prevent fires”.

This is a spring festival to pray for the prevention of fires, where Homusubi-no-Kami (fire deity) in Atago Shrine is dedicated. The magnificent floats in which Kagura (Shinto music and dance) and Karakuri (string puppet) are displayed while running through the town are a great highlight.
